1) What are the key conventions of TV advertising can you find in the Galaxy advert?

Key Conventions which are found in the Galaxy advert different sounds in the background, editing in the use of CGI, USP

2) What is the key message the Galaxy advert is communicating about its chocolate? 

The key message of this advert is to advertise the new chocolate. It is a luxury but classic chocolate. The slogan says ' Why have cotton when you can have silk '. The connotations of silk is representing how smooth it is showing how its the better chocolate. 

3) Who is Audrey Hepburn and why did Galaxy select Audrey Hepburn for this advert? 

Audrey Hepburn was a famous female actress and was immediately prioritised by people, made to look flawless and perfect. She was made as CGI in this advert but used because was known globally and loved by many. It represents nostalgia showing how she is still used in adverts. 

4) What is intertextuality?

This is one one media piece refers to another media piece to allow audience to engage. 


5) What Audrey Hepburn films are referred to in this advert and how is this effect created? 

The advert refers to Audrey Hepburn's previous movie called Roman Holiday. This creates a similar feeling because they have the same story. The advert uses the same costume as Audrey Hepburn from Roman Holiday. Using the same makeup symbolises her look. 


6) Which of Propp's character types are can be found in the advert and how do they change? 

The hero is used in the Galaxy advert is the man offering Audrey Hepburn a car ride. The princess is Audrey because of the way she is treated out of all the people in the bus and saved. The villain in this advert is the fruit vendor for dropping all the fruit causing the bus being unable to carry on the journey. The donor is the bus driver for giving the hat and giving it to the car driver.

7) How does the advert's narrative (story) follow Todorov's theory of equilibrium? 

Todrov's theory is used in the advert. The equilibrium being the start of the bus journey safely in the Amalfi Mountains. It is then followed by the disruption which is caused by the fruit vendors causing all the fruits to fall. It is then followed by a new equilibrium which is when the man offers Audrey Hepburn a ride. 

8) What representation of celebrity can be found in this advert?  

This advert uses CGI instead of the real Audrey Hepburn due to her passing. It creates nostalgia for people who used to possibly watch her. She was made to look the same with similar makeup and facial features. 

9) What representations of gender can you find in this advert?

Gender roles in this advert are shown as a man who is represented as the hero who has the more dominated character while Audrey Hepburn is represented as a women who has less power and control over everything and has a less dominated character.  

10) How are stereotypes subverted at the end of the Galaxy advert to reflect modern social and cultural contexts? 

Stereotypes in this advert is that women at independent on men and have no ability of anything. For example men offering her a ride showing maybe that women are incapable of figuring things out alone.
