Camera movement and editing

 Camera Movement & Editing: 1) Camera movement: a) Crane: 1.16: The use of this camera movement creates a quick motion effect giving a large overview of the setting and what's going on. Allows the audience to see the action taking place and an idea of why the director may have chosen this type of camera movement. It displays a sense of urgency seeing that the characters are being chased and a lot of dramatic motion is recorded. It also adds lots of rapid motion which enhances the dramatic scene.  b) Tilt: 2.15: This use of camera movement creates a dramatic image and a high angle shot. It allows the audience to see what is going on from a still view with no movement. It foreshadows the next steps which will commence in the following scene. It also highlights how even the character are looking upwards reducing patience of the audience.  Camera Work Blog Tasks: 1) Camera Shots: This camera shot is a medium close-up of two characters showing their faces and shoulders only. It allows us to see the characters facial expressions.   This is an over the shoulder camera shot . This specific type of shot allows us to view the subject which are the computers, the view from behind the person. It also allows us to see the perspective from the characters. This is a low angle angle camera shot . This allows the audience to see a complete view of the surrounding and characters perspective. Typically gives us a rough idea of where the location is.  2) Camera Angle : This is a high camera angle. Its shows deep interest of the characters. It typically means that they may be looking up at someone. Denotation & Connotation

 Denotation & Connotation: Denotation:  There is a young boy in the background with some text saying 'Dig toilets, Not graves'. The background appears to be some trees and a village possibly.  Connotation:  The advert is made by Water Aid, using the slogan 'Dig water, Not graves'. The connotations of the slogan shows how people like this young boy are suffering leading to deaths. The slogan also tells us how unclean water is also leading to deaths. The facial expressions of the boy emphasises how it affects people like him.  We can also see how the child is wearing tattered clothing showing how the boy and people like him don't receive the same care as people who may not live in poverty. In addition, the background is blurred with not much life in it meaning it has connotations of how it isn't a very happy topic but rather something which should be changed.   First 10 Questions: 1) Which part of Media are you looking forward to the most? I’m looking forward to learn more about how to edit and how media is used to make movies. 2) What knowledge and skills do you hope to learn in Media? I hope to learn how to edit in more detail. 3) What grade are you realistically hoping to achieve in Media? Realistically, I am aiming to achieve a grade 6/7 or more when I complete my media studies. 4) What device do you use most to access the media? (The media = news, TV, music, film, social media etc.)   I most of the time use my phone to access all social media, news but TV if watching a film. 5) What is your average 'screen time' (or equivalent) on your phone each day. Is this about right, too little or too much? Why?  My screen time is an average of 4-5 hours a week, every day around 3hours a day.
